Join Our Brotherhood

What is recruitment?

Rush is a time period once per semester when Alpha Kappa Psi officially recruits, and extends bids for potential new members to join Alpha Kappa Psi.

Do I have to be a business-oriented major to apply?

Nope! All majors are welcomed in Alpha Kappa Psi.

What is Alpha Kappa Psi?

Alpha Kappa Psi is a co-ed professional business fraternity that was established in 1904. We develop our chapter's professional skills, as well as instill our core values of Brotherhood, Knowledge, Integrity, Service and Unity in all of our members.

Are there any scholarships for pledges?

Yes! The Pledge Merit Scholarship is available. Beta Lambda endeavors to recruit and promote the best candidates for membership and it is our mission to develop principled business leaders. We do not believe lack of financial ability should hinder our new members. Beta Lambda offers a merit-based scholarship for one newly initiated member each semester. To be considered for this scholarship one must:

  • exhibit financial need
  • maintain a 3.0 GPA
  • respond to the application question to the best of their abilities

A pledge is not required to be a business major, and does not need to be a part of the pledge class executive committee; any pledge is welcome to apply. In addition, the recipient is highly encouraged to attend Principled Business Leaders Institute in February of next year in San Francisco, California.

What are the pledge process requirements?

  • Pass Mid-Court and Court of Honor Evaluations
  • Pass the Fraternal Exam
  • Attend all pledge activities
  • Maintain academic success

How is Alpha Kappa Psi different from other business fraternities?

We are the largest and oldest business fraternity in the country. We have an expansive and successful group of alumni including over twenty Senators, two presidents (Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon), as well as executives of many major companies (the Founder of Marriott International J. Willard Marriott, the founder of J.C. Penny James Cash Penny, Malcolm ‘Steve’ Forbes Jr. Editor in Chief of Forbes Magazine, and many more).

Can I be in another fraternity or sorority?

Yes, you can be in a social house as well as Alpha Kappa Psi. Many of our members balance both with ease. It's also a great way to learn time management!

When are weekly meetings?

During the pledge process weekly meetings are on Sundays. Once in chapter, weekly chapter meetings are on Tuesdays.
